Roofing Before & After in San Antonio, TX
You can hear a roof pitch all day, but nothing lands like seeing the actual work. We document every San Antonio job with before and after photos because the difference between a roof that’s failing and one that’s fixed isn’t always visible from the driveway. These project snapshots show real scenarios we handle across the city, from Alamo Heights to Stone Oak.

Hail-Damaged Shingle Replacement
Before
AfterSan Antonio spring storms leave golf ball sized hail that bruises shingles in ways you can’t see until the granule loss starts. This roof had scattered impact marks across three slopes, with underlayment exposure starting at the ridge. We removed the damaged GAF Timberline shingles, replaced the felt underlayment in the affected zones, and matched the remaining roof so the repair blends clean. The homeowner got written documentation of every layer we touched before we hauled anything off.
Valley Flashing Repair Near Leon Valley
Before
AfterValleys, the angled channels where two roof planes meet, carry more water than any other part of a roof. This home off Bandera Road had rusted-through valley flashing that had been pulling away from the decking for at least two seasons. We pulled the old metal, inspected the decking underneath for rot, and installed new galvanized flashing sealed with the same profile as the original roof. The result moves water down and off instead of into the attic.
Pipe Boot and Vent Collar Replacement
Before
AfterRubber pipe boots crack under the San Antonio sun long before the shingles around them age out. This homeowner had a slow ceiling stain in the hallway that traced back to a boot that had split at the base. We removed the old boot, replaced it with a new collar and flashing, and sealed every lap point so the roof envelope stays tight. It’s a small part most people never see, but it’s one of the most common leak sources we find east of 281.
Full Roof Replacement on a 1960s Ranch

This ranch home north of downtown still had its original three-tab shingles from the mid-60s, which meant brittle tabs, exposed nail heads, and one good storm away from a real problem. We tore off to the decking, replaced two sheets of water-damaged plywood, and installed a new Owens Corning architectural shingle system with new drip edge and synthetic underlayment. The roof now carries a written warranty, and the homeowner knows exactly what’s under the shingles because we photographed it all.
Chimney Flashing and Counterflashing Replacement

Chimneys are where roofs leak first, and this one in Terrell Hills was no exception. The old step flashing had separated from the masonry, and the counterflashing had been sealed over so many times it looked like a patchwork job. We cut out the old metal, installed new step flashing up the chimney face, and set the counterflashing into a fresh mortar joint for a clean, durable seal. The homeowner could see every piece in the before and after photos before they wrote the check.
Skylight Curb Flashing Repair

Skylights sit proud of the roofline, and every edge is a potential entry point for water. This homeowner near The Rim had water staining around the drywall beneath a skylight, and the old curb flashing had gaps wide enough to slide a card through. We stripped the shingles around the curb, replaced the flashing with new metal sized to the skylight, and re-felted the surrounding field before reinstalling the shingles. The fix was documented top to bottom, and the ceiling stain hasn’t returned.
